Reasons for Consultation:
He needed treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). After extensive gastro-enterological examinations by specialists neither his GP nor the specialists offered him any treatment because they could not find a diagnosis for his problem – severe diarrhoea for about 6 months. He had initially been given Imodium to stop the diarrhoea but this had not been effective.

Reasons for Consultation:
Unexplained weight gain (obesity).
Chronic fatigue.
Severe eczema for many years.
Constipation.

Problems Revealed during Consultation:
Forgetfulness, anxiety, stress and exhaustion, he would get colds and sore throats very often and asthma attacks from time to time. He also suffered from depression and wanted to come off the anti-depressant drugs. He regularly used a steroid cream to clear eczema.

Diet:
His diet was fairly good except for over-consumption of wheat, animal and dairy products. He was eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and drank one and a half litres of chlorine-free water per day. He drank no alcohol, carbonated drinks, tea or coffee. His diet had not changed for about 16 years.

Interpretation and Conclusions from First Consultation:
Rob had a compromised liver and immune system so he could not adequately cleanse the tissues of waste and unwanted by-products. He also had allergies and sensitivities especially to wheat and dairy products, which contributed to the development of these disorders and continued to make them worse. The anti-depressive drugs and the steroid cream also exacerbated his overall condition.

Progress:
Four weeks later Rob reported that he was feeling generally better. He reported that within a week his energy had increased and he was no longer forgetful. His eczema had disappeared within two weeks. He was very happy, as this was the first time in many years that his arms and legs had been free of eczema. Although he was eating regularly and as much as he wanted, with the treatment programme his belly was reducing. Motivated by his progress, he was eager to move on to the next part of the programme.

Comment:
Although he feels very well, Rob is well aware that to return permanently to optimum health, he will have to complete all the stages of treatment and has moved on to the next stage of the treatment. He knows which foods to avoid and steers clear of them.
